What you're agreeing to (Business Associate Agreement)

Route Care handles participant data — names, addresses, schedules, and trip records — on your center's behalf, and is a HIPAA Business Associate to you. In short:

We use participant data only to run the Service: routing, live tracking, and visit verification (EVV).
We never sell it, and never use it for marketing.
We report any breach without unreasonable delay.
EVV records are retained 10 years, matching state requirements.
Our infrastructure runs on AWS in the United States.

The full, signed agreement will be provided for your records during onboarding.

Turn-by-turn navigation in the driver app sends participant home coordinates to Google Maps — not covered by a HIPAA agreement with Google. How should we handle this for your drivers?

Accept it (i)

Drivers get in-app turn-by-turn navigation.

Disable in-app navigation (ii)

Drivers use the web app and their own maps app instead. No participant coordinates go to Google.

Hold off on the driver app (iii)

Wait until navigation moves off Google Maps.
